Moraine Valley Students: Is my membership included in tuition?
Full-time students (12 credit hours in fall and spring, 6 credit hours in summer), have access to the HFRC at no additional cost. Part-time students (enrolled in 11 credit hours in fall and spring, 5 credit hours less in summer) pay $60 per semester, $30 for summer.

What is the minimum age requirement?
To obtain a membership, members must be 16 years or older and will have access to all areas of the facility. Dependents age 3-15 can join on a parent/guardian member account, or through our family membership, but access is limited to the pool, field house, and track. Who can join?
Moraine Valley employees and all community members are all welcome to join.

Is there a discount for people who live in the district?
There is not a discount for individuals that live in the Moraine Valley district. For more information on our membership prices for community members, click here.

Equipment rentals and Pro Shop

What equipment is available to check out?
Members can check out basketballs, weight belts, volleyballs, and more.  Guests cannot check out equipment.

What is available to buy?
The Pro Shop area carries many items to accommodate your fitness and recreation needs, including shirts, shorts, swim goggles, socks, weight lifting gloves, and more.

Are lockers available? What is the rental policy?
More than 200 lockers are available in the men’s and women’s locker rooms free of charge with each visit. Lockers also are available on a rental basis as a convenience to members who want to store their workout gear and toiletries. Lockers have built in digital locks. Does the facility provide towels?
Yes. Your membership includes FREE towel service available at the welcome desk and on the second floor.

Programs and fitness services

Do you offer personal training?
Yes. Our personal trainers develop customized programs to meet individual members’ needs and goals. Visit the personal training page to learn more about packages, sessions and pricing.

Do you offer group fitness classes?
Yes. Our four studio spaces and pool accommodate classes at various times throughout the day. Members can enjoy our many free Group Fitness classes or can choose to join one or more of our premium fitness classes offered on a semester basis.

Do you have to be a member to take a class?
Our classes are open to members only and guests who have purchased the daily guest pass. Guests must be at least 16 years of age to participate in group fitness classes. However, non-members may register for fee-based instructional programs and Kids Camp.

Is there open studio time?
Yes. When classes are not scheduled, specified studios are available for member use.

Monday-Thursday 5:30 a.m.-10 p.m.
Friday 5:30 a.m.-9 p.m.
Saturday 6 a.m.-8 p.m.
Sunday 8 a.m.-6 p.m.

May I bring a guest?
Yes, the fee is $15 per guest and must be sponsored by an active member. Please visit the guest page to read more about our guest policies.

What do I need to access the facility?
Upon first visit, full-time students will need to bring their Moraine Valley ID and activate their membership, including signing a waiver and having their picture taken at Membership Services in the HFRC. Part-time students will need their student I.D., sign a waiver, have their picture taken and pay the semester fee directly at the HFRC. Students are required to have their student ID with them each time to check in. Access will be denied without their ID. Faculty/staff can sign up and pay at Membership Services and will need their Moraine Valley ID for access. Community members will sign up at Membership Services and be issued a membership key tag.

FitRec Members – How to log into the online portal?

  1. Online Registration for Members, Non-Members and Guests
    1. Open the online portal log-in page
    2. In the upper right corner of the page, click on the link “Assess My Account” if this is your first time using the portal.
    3. Fill out your first name, last name and the e-mail address you have on file at FitRec and hit Continue.
    4. Check your e-mail for a link that will help you finish setting up your account on the online portal.
